St. George Airport - Before and After Pictures
www.botanicalsdesign@me.com
Hello again,
Here is one of our bigger projects we completed at the new airport located in Saint George, Utah. We put together some before and after pictures to show the transformation.
This beautiful building has a open, unique, and modern environment. The picture to the left if you'll notice is taken from a high vantage point as is looking down into the large space.
The living plants we installed, not only give the space a splash of color, but add depth and character to the hallway. It was a great place to let vines hang free over the edge because of the height.
The landscape design (plantscape) turned out really well in this next space. The vibrant green plants really complemented the colorful brick around it.

Here is just one example of the potted trees around the airport. This tree to the bottom right is a Fiddle Leaf Fig (Ficus lyrata of the fig family). They love bright and warm areas.
In this picture we have a large lobby area. The large potted trees help break up the continuous white wall and add comfort and depth to the space. And they added their own unique sculpture the to picture below.

Plants in the Office
Plants are a huge part of nature’s ecological system. Gone
is the day of making terrariums and vivarium’s in the classroom (maybe not so
long ago for some of us). But the concept is still there and as humans we need
plants. So naturally it makes sense to welcome plants into our closed off offices
and work-spaces for a healthier environment.
But how exactly do plants help your workers and customers?
Healthier Employees
Plants have proven to reduce ailments in the workplace.
- Fatigue reduced by 20%
- Headache reduced by 30%
- Dry Skin reduced by 25%
- Coughs reduced by 40%
- Sore Throat reduced by 30%
Better Productivity
Did you know that job stress is responsible for an estimated
annual cost of $10,000 per employee due to turnover, absenteeism, and
diminished productivity, and medical costs? Studies have found a link between having
interior plants and the retention and the hiring of top employees. They have
also found plants have an impact on the following.
- Plants reduce absenteeism by as much as 40%
- 12% improvement in worker productivity
- Up to a 40% reduction in ailments
Less Stress
Have you ever felt that stress played a factor on your
productivity where you work? If you have you are not alone. Over 50% of employees
said they less productive at work as a result of stress and over 40% say they
typically feel tense or stressed out. While other factors are often involved most
employees report that work is a significant source of stress. A study conductedin 2010 shows us that plants really do lift spirits. They have found significant
reduction in tension/anxiety, depression/dejection, anger/hostility, fatigue,
and confusion.
Cleaner Air
Did you know that buildings can be up to 10 times more
polluted than the outside air? That’s right, 10 times. I don’t know about you,
but that makes me want to go take a shower. But don’t worry, we have more good
news for you. You guessed it, plants. Plants can remove up to 87% of indoor air
pollutants within 24 hours. In fact plants release chemicals that suppress mold
spores and bacteria in the ambient air.

About Us

It would be difficult to find a time in the past four generations when we as a family have not been surrounded with the culture of growing. As little children we learned from our parents and grandparents the lessons of sun, seed, and soil. Hours were spent in the furrows of our farm and in the lush foliage of our greenhouses. Though would be difficult to find a time in the past four generations when we as a family have not been surrounded with the culture of growing. Today we still love to work in the soil to bring the outside in, to share in the bounties that nature offers, to create a quiet corner where the mind finds rest.

In 2003
Botanicals was formed in St. George, Utah by siblings Niki Warner and Braden
Hancock to supply and service interior tropicals, outdoor container gardens,
and designer pottery. Within a short time our high personal standards combined
with our individual work ethic and singular creations generated a demand of its
own.
In 2006 we
incorporated to form Botanicals, Inc. and we added our own exclusive line of
pottery. In 2008 we launched our web site and online store so distinctive
Botanicals products could be available for personal container gardening and
exceptional gift giving.
We have been told by our customers
that we at Botanicals are somewhat of an anomaly in today's world. Why?
We want our
clients to love our products and services as much as we do; we value their time
as much as our own, we respect their property and always leave their space
better than we found it. Our pricing is fair and is clearly set forth with no
hidden costs.
In short, we want their
experience with us to be as refreshing as our product line itself. We fully
stand behind all our products and services and take pride and pleasure in
providing them. Our highest compliment is the delight of our customers
